AURORA, Colo. — CatsOnly Veterinary Services plans to open its first feline-only hospital in August at Stanley Marketplace.
The 5,300-square-foot hospital at 2501 N. Dallas St., Suite 124, will have four private exam rooms and will not allow dogs on-site. Cats and their owners will remain in the same room throughout appointments.
“Cats communicate stress, pain, fear and discomfort very differently than dogs,” said Dr. Jason Epstein, co-founder and chief veterinary officer. “We built this hospital from the ground up so every decision, from room layout and lighting to color and acoustics, could be made through the cat’s eyes.”
The hospital will provide preventive care, nutrition support, diagnostic services, dentistry, surgery, internal medicine and behavioral consultations. It will also offer 24-hour telephone triage support and 40-minute appointments intended to give cats time to adjust to the environment.
Dr. Alley Flood, an Aurora resident, will serve as the hospital’s partner veterinarian.
CatsOnly publishes prices for common services and offers annual memberships starting at $249. Memberships include unlimited office visits, 50% off vaccinations and a $100 credit toward dental, spay or neuter care.
The company said every cat in a household will be eligible for a complimentary first exam as part of the opening.
CatsOnly holds Fear Free Certified Veterinary Practice status, Cat Friendly Practice Gold certification and CAETA Peaceful End-of-Life Practice certification. Additional Denver-area locations are planned.
