Dairy Queen to open second location in Monument

A new Dairy Queen restaurant will open July 20 at 16577 Cinematic View in Monument, with a grand opening scheduled for July 21.
Karlye and Russ Brooks will own and operate the restaurant, their second Dairy Queen location in El Paso County. The couple opened a Colorado Springs restaurant in March.
“I was born and raised in Monument and graduated from the local high school,” Karlye Brooks said. “We are excited to now be opening a business here.”
The restaurant will serve burgers, chicken strips, soft-serve ice cream and Blizzard treats. It will include indoor seating, a mobile-order pickup counter, drive-thru lanes and an outdoor patio.
The owners plan to work with local schools and participate in community events. The restaurant is also expected to create jobs, though the company did not provide an estimated number of positions.
The Monument Dairy Queen will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
