Colorado Companies to Watch: Active Enterprises

Colorado is known for its outdoor recreation opportunities, but many kids prefer to stay inside and stare at screens. Active Enterprises helps parents raise active children at Little Kickers Swim School and Kickin’ It Kids Gym. “We recognized the economic viability and potential for growth in this vibrant community,” said CEO, co-founder and owner Daphna Kapnik. “Colorado has a relatively young population with a high percentage of families with children, providing a potential customer base for kids’ sports programs and services.”
When Little Kickers Swim School launched in 2014, it operated out of third party pools until the company built a state-of-the-art facility. This allowed it to control its own space, double the number of clients served, and provide clients with a beautiful and comfortable space to learn.
Kickin’ It Kids Gym helps kids get the most of their playtime, with an indoor playground that features a playset with slides, ball drop, baby area, climbing wall, and rotating activities. The two locations are decorated in soothing colors instead of the traditional loud primary colors. “We wanted to create spaces parents could also enjoy and relax and provide a sense of calm,” said Daphna, who owns Active Enterprises with her sister Yael.
