PORTLAND, Ore. — Community Development Partners, a California and Oregon-based affordable housing developer, is expanding its work across the West with projects designed through community collaboration.
The award-winning firm has completed or begun construction on developments in California, Oregon, Colorado, Nevada, Arizona and Washington. Executives said the portfolio reflects the company’s belief that stable housing is essential to quality of life.
In Colorado, Kings Crossing Village, a 179-unit campus-style community across three buildings is set for completion in 2027.
Each project is tailored to the needs of the surrounding community and designed with local input, said the company.
“This moment captures the kind of work we set out to do at CDP, deeply collaborative, community-informed housing that responds to real needs with care and creativity,” said Eric Paine, co-founder and CEO of Community Development Partners. “From Oregon’s tallest mass timber supportive housing project to a multigenerational campus in Colorado, these projects represent what is possible when architecture, development and social impact come together with purpose.”
Since its founding in 2011, CDP has completed 1,166 homes across 17 projects in 10 California cities. Four additional projects with 360 units are under construction or planned, including two in new jurisdictions. In Oregon, where the 2023 PIT count showed nearly a quarter of Portland’s homeless population was age 55 or older, CDP is working on Julia West House to address those needs.
The company is also responding to Colorado’s projected demand for more than 300,000 affordable housing units over the next several years. Leaders said CDP’s approach emphasizes diversity, equity and inclusion, with projects designed to build lasting community capacity.
