BERTHOUD, Colo. — Metalex Thermal Specialties has received Nadcap accreditation for heat treating, a certification widely used in the aerospace industry to verify compliance with technical and quality standards.
The accreditation recognizes the company’s heat-treating processes and quality systems and is considered a benchmark for special process providers serving aerospace manufacturers.
“Achieving Nadcap accreditation is a tremendous milestone for Metalex and a reflection of our team’s dedication to quality, accountability and continuous improvement,” said Debra James, president and CEO of Metalex Thermal Specialties.
The company said the accreditation follows several years of investments in operations, equipment, employee training and quality management systems. The James family acquired Metalex in 2020 and has since focused on expanding the company’s technical capabilities and process controls.
Chris James, general manager of Metalex Thermal Specialties, said the accreditation required extensive work across the organization.
“This accreditation represents thousands of hours of work by our team,” James said. “Every employee played a role in achieving this milestone.”
Nadcap accreditation is administered by the aerospace industry through the Performance Review Institute and is used by manufacturers and suppliers to assess compliance with industry requirements.
“Many years, the aerospace industry has incorporated Nadcap into its approach for handling risk, as it demonstrates compliance with industry standards and customer requirements,” said Jay Solomond, executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Performance Review Institute.
Metalex Thermal Specialties provides thermal processing services for aerospace, defense and other industries requiring specialized heat-treatment processes.
