Partner and member of the firm’s executive committee, Nathan Davis, 51, leads Snell & Wilmer’s Energy Litigation Group from its Denver office. Over his 20-plus years practicing law, Davis has represented a wide range of oil and gas producers in commercial litigation while also working on land use and product liability cases. He also acts as an advisor to clients on risk reduction and regulatory issues.

For Davis, preparation is critical. “The biggest lesson I have learned in my career is to prepare a game plan for winning each new lawsuit as soon as I am hired,” he said. “If you do not proactively evaluate the facts, legal issues, expert needs, and strategy for success at the onset of each new matter, you will spend the entire case reacting to the opposition instead of executing on a thoughtful game plan that is designed to achieve your client’s goals.”
