Peter Burg, 69, joined his brother, Michael Burg, in his Denver practice in 1984. “I was a little hesitant, because this is my older brother,” said Peter. “We’re both dogmatic personalities. But Mike gave me great advice, which was, ‘Come out if you want to have more fun, not to make more money.’”
More than 40 years later as senior shareholder at Burg Simpson, Peter does not regret the decision in the slightest. “My soul and spirit are nurtured by trying to get folks fair compensation for what often are life-changing consequences forced upon them due to no fault of their own,” he said.
An expert in traumatic brain and spinal cord injury litigation, Peter keeps his focus on the human side of the profession. “I think representing and fighting on behalf of seriously injured people or those who have lost loved ones has also made me recognize the importance of giving back. I think it’s an obligation when your livelihood is so intertwined with someone’s pain, grief, or loss.”
