Centennial renews Jacobs contract for public works services

CENTENNIAL, Colo. — The City of Centennial has renewed a 15-year contract with Jacobs to continue managing essential public works and infrastructure services for more than 110,000 residents.

Under the agreement, the Dallas-based company will oversee services including traffic engineering, street rehabilitation, code enforcement, facilities management and the city’s 2,800-light streetlight system.
City officials said the partnership is central to maintaining safety and quality of life. “Centennial’s partnership with Jacobs has been a cornerstone of our ability to deliver reliable, high-quality services for our residents,” Mayor Stephanie Piko said in a statement. “Together, we are investing in smarter infrastructure, safer streets and more connected neighborhoods.”
Jacobs has worked with Centennial since 2008 on infrastructure modernization and smart city initiatives. The city’s Public Works Department was recently reaccredited by the American Public Works Association, officials said, a recognition that reflects the collaboration’s success.
The new contract will also involve PA Consulting, a firm partly owned by Jacobs, to support Centennial’s long-term goals for transportation and digital infrastructure. Plans include upgrading traffic operations, preparing the city’s intelligent transportation system and exploring the use of autonomous equipment.
Jacobs Executive Vice President Greg Fischer said the renewal builds on a 17-year partnership that has focused on adapting to the city’s evolving needs while aligning with community priorities.
