Colorado-based WATTMORE and EOS expand energy storage partnership

Colorado-based energy technology company WATTMORE has entered a nonexclusive agreement with Eos Energy Enterprises to integrate its software with Eos’ long-duration energy storage systems.
Under the agreement, Pittsburgh-based Eos will deploy WATTMORE’s Intellect Operate energy management system and power plant controller for select customer projects. The companies also will integrate WATTMORE’s software with Eos’ DawnOS operating system and Z3 zinc-based battery technology.
WATTMORE’s platform, developed and operated by its Denver-based team, manages energy dispatch, optimization and grid interaction. Eos’ DawnOS provides battery-level monitoring, control and optimization.
“Energy storage systems depend on battery technology, controls and software working together as a single operating environment,” WATTMORE founder and CEO Jonathan W. Postal said.
The companies previously worked together on a 3-megawatt, 12-megawatt-hour energy storage project for Lincoln Electric System, a Nebraska utility. The project used Eos’ Z3 technology and WATTMORE’s controls platform to support grid operations.
Eos said the integration will provide another energy management option for projects involving utilities, data centers, microgrids and other large-scale applications.
