Denver Fringe Festival returns June 3-7 with 80+ performances

DENVER — The Denver Fringe Festival returns June 3-7 with more than 80 live performances at venues across the city, supported by presenting partner RiNo Art District.

The five-day festival is part of a global network of fringe theater festivals and features local performers alongside artists from around the country. Performances will take place at venues including Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Center, Dude IDK Studios, Fort Greene Bar, RedLine Contemporary Art Center, The Savoy, Ratio Beerworks and The Shop at MATTER.
RiNo Art District’s partnership includes hosting Denver Fringe performances at the Truss House, the district’s community event space located within the ArtPark at Arkins Park at 1900 35th St.
“Denver Fringe has such an important place in the RiNo Art District,” said Daisy Fodness-McGowan, executive director of RiNo Art District. “We’re proud to continue to support the success they’re already seeing.”
Ann Sabbah, executive director of Denver Fringe, said the festival is designed to provide opportunities for a wide range of artistic expression.
“We strive to open the door to all kinds of creative expression,” Sabbah said. “What makes Fringe so exciting is that artists are taking risks, audiences are stepping into the unknown, and together we’re creating this spontaneous, inclusive experience where anything can happen.”
Performances at Truss House will include “Fort Pillow,” “Hilma AF,” “The LuneAtics Lounge: The Creature Within” and “Dance of a Thousand Faces.”
In addition to ticketed performances, the festival will feature free pop-up events intended to expand access to live performing arts.
The RiNo Business Improvement District is supporting Denver Fringe programming within its district boundaries.
Founded in 2005, RiNo Art District is a nonprofit organization that supports artists, creative businesses and cultural programming throughout the district. Denver Fringe Festival is now in its seventh year.
