Derek Hoffine, 45, joined Hensel Phelps as an engineer in 2022. After a stint as regional vice president for the Rocky Mountain Region, Hoffine was promoted to executive vice president of the Central Division in 2025, working out of the firm’s corporate headquarters in Greeley as it develops a new global headquarters in Loveland.
“I believe power in the construction industry is defined by reputation, experience, and the ability to innovate while maintaining the highest standards in safety and quality,” said Hoffine. “The mark of it is having a skilled and reliable workforce, fostering new technologies, and navigating economic fluctuations effectively.”
Hoffine said his passion for constructions largely stems from community impact. “Construction consists of unsung heroes who are willing to rebuild a community in the face of tragedy, improve a community with sustainable and progressive design, and drive innovation,” he said. “This sense of purpose and the tangible results of our work keep me motivated and passionate about what I do.”
