Scott Miller, 47, recently led his team through GE Johnson’s acquisition by Redwood City, Calif.-based DPR, which was finalized in early 2025. Now as business unit leader for DPR’s Mountain States region, Miller brings an engineer’s eye and 20 years of construction experience to projects in Colorado and Wyoming. Recent highlights included building the Hosmer Visitor Center and Hotel Polaris at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.
On big career lessons, Miller said he has learned that patience and persistence are keys to success as a contractor. “Sleep on it!” he noted. “Everything looks different in the morning.”
The variety of the work is one of the big motivators for Miller: “The dynamic nature of construction, where no two days are the same, appeals to his desire for constant learning and problem-solving.”
