If the chill of fall and the thrill of Halloween left you wanting more, a pop-up speakeasy in Fort Collins is ready to summon a fresh dose of chills this March — all inspired by the macabre tales of Edgar Allan Poe.

Hosted at The Covey, this gothic, candlelit experience will bring four of Poe’s stories to life, performed by Poe historians and paired with a themed cocktail for each. According to the booking site for tickets, the stories include:
- “The Cask of Amontillado”
- “Annabel Lee”
- “The Pit and the Pendulum”
- “The Fall of the House Usher”
The 90-minute show is immersive and performance-based, but you don’t need to be a Poe expert to enjoy it. Even if you’re unfamiliar with his work, it could be a good excuse to step into something eerie, atmospheric and a little outside your usual night out. For die-hard fans, this is your chance to experience the stories beyond the pages.
The Fort Collins pop-up runs March 26-28. Tickets are available on the booking site Fever and range from $55 to $65 depending on the time slot. They’re “extremely limited,” according to the speakeasy’s website, so plan ahead if you want to get in.
