Ferrero Group to acquire Boulder’s Purely Elizabeth

Ferrero Group has signed an agreement to acquire Purely Elizabeth, a Boulder-based maker of granola, oatmeal and cereal, the companies announced Aug. 14.
Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close in the coming months, subject to regulatory approval and other closing conditions.
Purely Elizabeth was founded in 2009 by Elizabeth Stein and has more than doubled its sales during the past two years. The company has also expanded into protein products.
Ferrero said Purely Elizabeth will continue to operate as a standalone brand. Stein will remain CEO and the company’s existing leadership team will stay in place.
“Building Purely Elizabeth from an idea 17 years ago into the brand it is today has been one of the most rewarding journeys of my life,” Stein said. “In Ferrero, we’ve found a family-owned company that believes deeply in what we’ve built.”
The acquisition expands Ferrero’s presence in the U.S. breakfast and health-focused food markets. Ferrero acquired WK Kellogg Co. in 2025 and owns brands including Power Crunch in North America, Eat Natural and FULFIL in Europe and Bold Snacks in Brazil.
