Griffen O’Shaughnessy is a powerhouse entrepreneur and connector whose vision has transformed how top talent and organizations work together. In 2009, Griffen founded Canopy Advisory Group to give companies access to elite fractional experts on a project basis, saving time and money while unlocking high-impact solutions. Her idea emerged from her own experience balancing an intense corporate career and new motherhood, inspiring her to reimagine what meaningful work could look like for both professionals and businesses.
Today, Canopy is thriving with more than 215 vetted experts in fields ranging from finance to strategy. Griffen has built lasting partnerships with clients including Coca Cola, the Denver Art Museum and Con Edison, which recently signed a multi-year $903,000 contract under her leadership. Canopy’s impressive client list and 99% retention rate speak to Griffen’s commitment to personal relationships, precise matchmaking and results that endure.
In the past year alone, Griffen placed 30 new experts, onboarded 40 advisors, signed new national clients and hosted seven live events that drew more than 400 attendees. She also launched a new online community to help Canopy’s professionals share knowledge and support each other.
A former M&A attorney with Holland & Hart, Griffen led major deals including Rio Tinto’s $764 million transaction and venture financings for companies later acquired by Yahoo and Lockheed Martin.
Griffen’s community impact is equally significant. She serves on the Kent Denver Campaign Advisory Council, fosters dogs through Humane Colorado, volunteers at her children’s school and serves on the board of Girls Inc., proving that her drive to build connections makes Denver stronger in every way.
