Fort Collins-based Neenan Archistruction is marking its 60th anniversary in 2026.
The company was founded in 1966 as a prefabricated metal building franchise. David Neenan acquired the business in 1973 and developed an integrated model that placed architecture and construction under one team. The company later trademarked the term “archistruction” to describe the approach.
Neenan now provides planning, development, architecture, construction and building support services. The company employs about 75 people and serves clients nationwide in health care, education and financial services.
Its projects include schools, health care facilities and buildings serving veterans and underserved populations. In Northern Colorado, the company has worked on New Belgium Brewing and the Powerhouse Energy Campus in Fort Collins.
“Throughout our history, our mission has extended beyond the buildings we create to the communities, clients and employees we serve,” CEO David Shigekane said.
President Bill Pigg, whose father was the company’s first employee, said Neenan plans to continue investing in technology while maintaining its focus on client and community relationships.
“Design-build succeeds because of trust and relationships,” Pigg said. “That commitment to our clients, partners and communities will continue to guide everything we do.”
