DENVER — Gov. Jared Polis on Thursday announced plans to auction 150 Colorado-themed nonfungible tokens, or NFTs, as part of the state’s 150th birthday celebration.
Polis made the announcement at the ETHDenver conference in partnership with the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade. The auction is scheduled to begin June 1, 2026.
State officials said the NFT sale is part of the broader America 250-Colorado 150 initiative, which was created to encourage residents statewide to participate in commemorative events marking both the nation’s 250th anniversary and Colorado’s 150th anniversary.
“Here in Colorado innovation is part of our code,” Polis said. “Today I am excited to announce the launch of 150 Colorado NFTs, a unique way to highlight artists and celebrate our great state.”
Proceeds from the NFT sales will support other America 250-Colorado 150 commemorative efforts.
Polis also appeared at the Colorado Technology Association’s annual Tech Summit and APEX Awards, where he presented the Bob Newman Lifetime Achievement Award to David Cohen and Seth Levine for their work in advancing technology in Colorado.
