Emily Griffith Technical College launches entrepreneurship program

Emily Griffith Technical College will launch a three-month, part-time entrepreneurship program Aug. 24 to help graduates turn their trade, service or technical skills into businesses.

The Entrepreneurship Studies program will teach business planning, financing, legal requirements and marketing. Students will complete a business plan that meets lender and investor requirements.

Participants will also receive three hours of individual advising through the Colorado Small Business Development Center’s -area network. Huntington Bank will provide instruction for the program’s small-business financing course.

The program initially will be available to graduates of Emily Griffith’s career and technical education or .

“In a 2025 study of our alumni, when asked what resources students would want to receive from Emily Griffith, 70% identified entrepreneurship training and business startup support,” said Gideon Geisel, dean of trades, business and technology.

The Emily Griffith Foundation will cover tuition and fees for 44 students across four cohorts during the 2026-27 academic year. The hybrid program will combine in-person and online instruction.
