Quantinuum and Oracle partner on cloud quantum computing

BROOMFIELD, Colo. and AUSTIN, Texas — Quantinuum and Oracle have formed a multiyear partnership to provide access to quantum computing through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
Under the agreement, Quantinuum’s Helios quantum computer will be installed at a U.S.-based OCI artificial intelligence data center. OCI customers will be able to access the system alongside Oracle’s high-performance computing and graphics processing unit infrastructure.
The companies plan to support hybrid quantum, AI and traditional computing applications in areas including drug discovery, materials science, financial modeling, logistics, energy and large-scale optimization.
“We believe the next phase of enterprise computing will be shaped by bringing quantum, AI and high-performance computing together,” said Rajeeb Hazra, president and CEO of Broomfield-based Quantinuum.
Helios, which became commercially available in November 2025, is Quantinuum’s third-generation quantum computer. The trapped-ion system has 98 physical qubits and has been used in demonstrations involving 48 logical qubits.
Installing Helios within OCI is expected to allow the quantum computer to connect with Oracle’s computing, networking, storage, identity and data services. Customers would gain managed access without purchasing or operating their own quantum computing equipment.
Oracle plans to preview its OCI quantum service in the coming months. The service is expected to include Quantinuum’s development tools and support for open-source programming frameworks used to build and test applications combining quantum and traditional computing.
