Alison joined Lathrop GPM in 2017 and has built a nationally recognized trust and estate litigation practice that has doubled in size under her leadership. She recruited top talent, created new teams and expanded the firm’s presence across Colorado and beyond. Alison is known for her dedication to complex, sensitive cases in trust and estate law and elder law, often helping families navigate difficult circumstances with compassion and expertise.
In one landmark matter, she fought for the rights of two young sisters orphaned by a murder-suicide, overcoming international legal hurdles to secure their safety and permanent guardianship with their maternal family. She has also handled cutting-edge cases involving genetic material and estate law, winning favorable outcomes for her clients while shaping emerging legal questions.
Named among The Best Lawyers in America for a decade and honored as “Lawyer of the Year” for Elder Law four times, Alison was also recognized by Chambers High Net Worth Guide and Colorado Super Lawyers. She contributes extensively to her profession and community, serving on the Colorado Supreme Court Attorney Regulation Advisory Committee, the Colorado Legal Regulation Committee and as a past president of the Colorado Women’s Bar Association.
She mentors young lawyers, leads the firm’s Women’s Initiative Network and the Lathrop GPM Foundation and volunteers pro bono to expand access to justice. Through every role, Alison’s dedication, leadership and compassion distinguish her as a trusted advocate for clients, colleagues and the community alike.
