The Community College of Aurora has received the 2026 Excellence in Mental Health and Well-Being Award from Insight Into Academia magazine.
The award recognizes colleges and universities for mental health and wellness services available to students and employees. CCA is among 38 recipients that will be featured in the magazine’s September issue.
CCA provides students with free counseling through TimelyCare, including on-demand wellness resources and self-care modules. Fox’s Thrive, a student-led organization, offers peer support, wellness activities and opportunities for students to connect.
The college also operates wellness spaces at its three campuses, including the Wellness Den at CentreTech, the Student Lounge at Lowry Studios and Foxy’s Resource Center at the Centennial Campus for Healthcare and First Responders.
Student advocacy coaches meet individually with students and provide referrals to health, wellness and community resources.
“We are committed to our students, and by working together, we strive to create the optimal environment for their success,” Reyna Anaya, vice president of student success at CCA, said.
This is the first time CCA has received the Mental Health and Well-Being Award. Insight Into Academia also recognized the college with its Higher Education Excellence and Distinction award in 2024 and 2025.
CCA offers classes at three campuses, online and through high school concurrent enrollment programs. It serves students in Aurora, Centennial and Denver.
