DENVER — Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP announced a series of personnel and leadership changes, including two attorney hires, several internal leadership appointments and a board appointment for one of the firm’s co-managing partners.
Alena Weicher joined the firm’s Trial Group as an associate. Admitted to practice in Colorado, Weicher focuses on product liability, premises liability and healthcare professional liability litigation. Before joining the firm, she served as a judicial intern in Colorado’s First and Twentieth Judicial District courts. She earned her law degree from the University of Colorado Law School and previously worked as a high school English teacher.
The firm also named Maria Y. Luna co-chair of its Clean Energy & Sustainability Group alongside Kathleen Schroder. Luna advises clients on renewable energy and commercial real estate matters, including utility-scale wind and solar developments, leasing, acquisitions and dispositions.
“Maria has long been an important contributor to the firm’s clean energy and renewable energy work,” Zachary D. Detra, head of the firm’s Transactions Department, said.
In addition, Davis Graham appointed Mark Champoux, Tess Hand-Bender and Sam Niebrugge to its Executive Committee.
Champoux leads the firm’s Trial & Appellate Group and serves as ethics counsel. Hand-Bender focuses on commercial litigation and white collar defense and investigations. Niebrugge leads the firm’s Energy & Mining Group and advises clients on transactions across the energy and natural resources sectors.
“Our Executive Committee plays a vital role in shaping the firm’s future while preserving the culture of client service and excellence that has defined Davis Graham for generations,” co-managing partner Kristin Lentz said.
Separately, Lentz was appointed to the Mile High United Way Board of Trustees. She has served as Davis Graham’s co-managing partner since 2017 and focuses her practice on mergers and acquisitions, debt financing and outside corporate counsel matters. She also serves on the board of directors and executive committee of Lex Mundi.
Lentz said she looks forward to supporting Mile High United Way’s work to expand opportunities for children, individuals and families across the Denver region.
