Guthrie’s will open its first Colorado restaurant in Colorado Springs on July 14, marking the brand’s entry into the state. The location at 1520 S. Nevada Ave. will be owned and operated by third-generation Guthrie family members Joe Kelly Guthrie, Tanner Guthrie and Garrison Guthrie.
The restaurant will celebrate its opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. The first 200 guests will receive free Guthrie’s for a year, with the first 100 guests in line receiving a free Original Box Combo each week for 12 months and the next 100 receiving one each month for 12 months.
“Growing up, Guthrie’s has always been part of our family’s story, and it’s incredibly special to be opening a restaurant with my brother and dad,” Tanner Guthrie said. “Colorado Springs stood out for its strong sense of community, its continued growth and the opportunity to serve the many military members and families who call this city home.”
The Colorado Springs location is expected to create about 50 jobs. The restaurant will operate from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and will serve Guthrie’s signature menu of hand-breaded chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, coleslaw and Guthrie’s sauce.
Founded in Haleyville, Guthrie’s operates more than 70 locations across 14 states. The company said the Colorado Springs restaurant marks the start of its expansion into Colorado.
“This opening represents more than our first restaurant in Colorado,” said Tom Carr, president and CEO of Guthrie’s Franchising. “It’s the beginning of a new chapter for the Guthrie family.”
