Movement Climbing, Yoga & Fitness will offer free climbing, classes and community events at its gyms nationwide on July 18 as part of Global Climbing Day.
The annual event will provide visitors with complimentary gym access, climbing rentals and introductory climbing, yoga and fitness classes. Movement staff will be available to help new climbers learn about the sport.
The company’s Denver RiNo location will host a featured event with professional climbers Andres Marin and Cedar Wright. Other featured events will take place at Movement locations in Rockville, Maryland; Grapevine, Texas; and Sunnyvale, California, with athlete appearances, live screen printing, community art projects and other activities.
“Global Climbing Day is one of our favorite days of the year because it gives us the opportunity to welcome new faces into our gyms and celebrate the community that makes climbing so special,” said Anne-Worley Moelter, CEO of Movement Climbing, Yoga & Fitness.
Movement will also offer a membership promotion during the event, with 50% off the first month of membership and a $0 initiation fee. The North Face will provide giveaways at Movement gyms during the event.
“Climbing has always been about more than reaching the top of the wall; it’s about the people you meet and the community you build along the way,” said Denise Anderson, head of marketing for The North Face.
Movement operates indoor climbing gyms across the United States, offering bouldering, rope climbing, yoga, fitness and youth programs.
