Motorized Madness Media Challenge returns Aug. 7 to support pediatric cancer research

DENVER — The Morgan Adams Foundation will host its annual Motorized Madness Media R/C Challenge on Thursday, Aug. 7, from 9 a.m. to noon, bringing together pediatric cancer patients, doctors, researchers, media figures and community members in a remote-control car racing event aimed at raising funds for pediatric cancer research. The event is free and open to the public.

The event runs from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Lot 11 on the Anschutz Campus of Children’s Hospital Colorado. Teams made up of local media personalities, medical professionals, race car drivers and young cancer patients will compete in high-energy R/C car races. The morning will also feature family-friendly entertainment, including face painting, balloon animals, music and a complimentary lunch.

“This event has always been one of the most heartwarming reminders of why we do what we do,” said Joan Slaughter, founder and executive director of The Morgan Adams Foundation. “It’s a powerful opportunity for our community to come together, hear directly from the families we support and see the real, tangible impact their generosity makes in the lives of kids fighting cancer.”

The event offers opportunities to connect with families, researchers and foundation leadership.

Now in its 22nd year, this charity-run Concours event is the longest-running of its kind in the western United States. The gala features rare and collectible cars, aircraft and motorcycles, along with silent and live auctions, fine dining and cocktails. Weekend activities include a road tour, museum visits and lectures.

Race Against Kids’ Cancer
Sept. 27–28 at High Plains Raceway
This event gathers vintage racing fans and supporters of pediatric cancer research for a high-adrenaline weekend featuring classic and modern cars in action. All proceeds benefit life-saving research.
