In Brief:

— Denver-based Sugar Lab is producing and distributing a new line of collagen protein sorbet launched nationwide by company Sorbet Sorority.

The brand, founded by women’s health physician , introduced five dairy-free, gluten-free sorbet flavors June 29. Every pint is created, produced and distributed by Sugar Lab, a family-owned Colorado food innovation company based in Denver.

Each pint contains 28 grams of collagen protein and is marketed as a lower-calorie alternative to traditional ice cream and dairy-based protein desserts.

Fundaro said she created the product after looking for healthier options to satisfy her sweet tooth.

“I created Sorbet Sorority to support my family’s health and wellness in a way that feels fun and refreshing,” Fundaro said. “Every flavor satisfies a specific craving while helping people stay committed to their personal wellness goals.”

The initial lineup includes Matcha Queen, Golden Passion Fruit, Malibu Mermaid, Princess Pitaya and Vanilla Cloud Latte. The flavors feature ingredients such as matcha, passion fruit, dragon fruit, pineapple, banana, blue spirulina and coffee.

According to the company, the sorbet is dairy-free, gluten-free and made with collagen protein instead of whey protein. Four of the five flavors are fat-free, while Matcha Queen contains coconut cream.

The company said the product is available for nationwide shipping through the Sorbet Sorority website. It also plans to expand distribution to grocery stores, gyms, theaters, sports venues and concert venues.
