HemCS United expands to Alamosa with Rural Jump-Start support

ALAMOSA — HemCS United Inc. plans to expand into Alamosa County with support from Colorado’s Rural Jump-Start program, state officials announced Tuesday.

The company, a subsidiary of Switzerland-based Hemar Group, will establish a U.S. operations and manufacturing division in Alamosa. It will offer electronics manufacturing services, including engineering and design, prototyping, production and testing.
HemCS United serves clients in medical technology, defense, industrial automation and consumer electronics. The company also operates an engineering headquarters in downtown Denver.
“Investing in our rural communities makes our entire state stronger,” said Gov. Jared Polis.
The Rural Jump-Start program is designed to encourage job creation and economic development in rural counties. HemCS United will receive $15,000 in grant funding to support its launch, and eligible employees will qualify for a state income tax exemption.
Sponsoring entities, including the San Luis Valley Development Resources Group, help recruit and support participating businesses.
Patrick Schaer, owner and CEO of HemCS United, said the program helped make the expansion possible.
“Our goal is to create high-quality jobs and build a long-term presence here,” Schaer said.
State officials said the project is intended to support economic diversification in southern Colorado.
