In Brief:

FORT COLLINS — Columbine Health Systems has completed the sale of eight independent and assisted living communities in northern Colorado to National Health Investors Inc., a healthcare real estate investment trust focused on and medical facilities.

The ownership transition took effect May 1. Generations LLC will manage the communities.

The sale includes four independent living communities: The Worthington and The Winslow in Fort Collins, The Wexford in Loveland and The Windsor in Windsor.

The transaction also includes Columbine Patio Homes in Fort Collins, Westwood Patio Homes in Windsor, New Mercer Commons Assisted Living in Fort Collins and Lakeview Commons Assisted Living in Loveland.

Columbine Health Systems has served seniors in northern Colorado since 1971.

“Building Columbine Health Systems into the most respected senior care business in Northern Colorado has been my life’s work and my greatest honor,” owner Bob Wilson said in a statement. “Generations LLC is incredibly like-minded, and we are completely confident that those we currently care for, and those these locations will welcome in the future, will feel the exact same dedication and compassion they always have from us.”

The sale follows a December 2025 transaction in which Columbine Health Systems sold several other regional properties to Cottonwood Healthcare, including Columbine Commons Assisted Living and Columbine Commons Health & Rehab in Windsor, along with Columbine West Health & Rehab, Lemay Avenue Health & Rehab and Centre Avenue Health & Rehab in Fort Collins.

On March 31, Columbine Health Systems also sold ancillary businesses. Poudre Infusion Therapy and Columbine Pharmacy were sold to Redrock Pharmacy, while Columbine Poudre Home Care and Bloom at Home were sold to Canyon Home Care & Hospice.
