DENVER — The Design Workshop Foundation has selected Rocky Mountain Land Library as the recipient of its 2026 initiative, a program that provides strategic planning, design expertise and technical assistance to nonprofit organizations.

Rocky Mountain Land Library, located at Buffalo Peaks Ranch along the in , will work with the foundation, Design Workshop professionals and community stakeholders throughout 2026 to identify strategies that support the organization’s long-term growth and effectiveness.

“Rocky Mountain Land Library embodies a place-based stewardship and community connection that aligns closely with the Foundation’s mission,” said Sarah Konradi, executive director of the Design Workshop Foundation. “Their work inspires curiosity, learning and a meaningful relationship with the land.”

Founded to promote learning through nature, community and books, Rocky Mountain Land Library operates a network of locations serving rural and urban communities across Colorado. Its Buffalo Peaks Ranch site spans 36 acres and houses more than 50,000 books focused on nature, ecology, history and the American West.

The property hosts workshops, field studies, restoration projects and connected to the surrounding landscape and the library’s collection.

As part of the initiative, the organizations will engage in a collaborative planning process involving community members, stakeholders and organizational leaders.

“We are honored to be selected for this partnership,” said Ben Sherrill, executive director of Rocky Mountain Land Library. “The opportunity to work alongside the Design Workshop Foundation will help us build upon years of stewardship and as we continue creating spaces for deeper connection with nature, books and community.”

The Design Workshop Foundation, founded in 2002, supports , education and community development projects. Rocky Mountain Land Library is a with locations from the South Platte headwaters to Denver.
