Carla Ferreira’s career is defined by bold vision and transformative leadership that has reshaped Colorado’s development landscape. As the developer of The Aurora Highlands, Carla leads one of the state’s largest master-planned community projects, designed to house more than 50,000 residents and provide essential amenities that foster connection and growth.
Under Carla’s leadership, The Aurora Highlands has earned major industry honors, including nine wins at the 2024 Denver MAME Awards and national recognition at The Nationals for Best Community Amenity, Best Community Welcome Center and more. Her vision for Hogan Park at Highlands Creek has turned 100 acres of land into an award-winning public art destination featuring over 20 installations by renowned artists, earning the Arts + Business Connection Award from The Aurora Chamber of Commerce and recognition from the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts.
Carla’s commitment to community goes beyond development. She has championed projects that expand access and opportunity, such as opening the community’s first P-8 Aurora Public School in 2023 and breaking ground on AdventHealth’s new medical campus in 2025. She played a key role in infrastructure improvements like the E-470 interchange, strengthening regional connectivity.
Carla’s influence extends to civic service and philanthropy. She serves on multiple boards, supports public safety and education and advocates for diversity in construction, ensuring over half the builders at The Aurora Highlands are women. Through major donations and events like Aurora Pride and the Aurora Borealis Festival, Carla’s leadership continues to build vibrant, inclusive communities that bring people together and set a new standard for development in Colorado.
