RidgeGate celebrates 25 years of growth with new East Village projects in Lone Tree

LONE TREE, Colo. — RidgeGate is marking 25 years of development in Lone Tree, with new residential, retail and civic projects underway as the mixed-use community continues to expand.

The community is home to more than 7,500 residents and approximately 10,000 jobs in its West Village. Development includes a mix of housing types, , employment hubs, parks and transit infrastructure.

“RidgeGate is a thriving community that continues to attract residents and businesses thanks to its connection to nature, diverse housing options, strong employment base and access to transit,” said Darryl Jones, senior vice president of Coventry Development Corp., the developer of RidgeGate.

Over the past 25 years, RidgeGate has added more than 20 residential neighborhoods, three retail centers and major employers including , Charles Schwab and Kiewit Corp.

The community includes more than 450 acres of donated open space, an extensive trail network and civic destinations such as the Lone Tree Recreation Center, Lone Tree Library, Lone Tree Arts Center, Lone Tree Justice Center and High Note Regional Park. RidgeGate also includes the Schweiger Ranch Foundation, a restored 19th-century homestead that hosts educational programs and community events.

Transportation infrastructure has been a key part of the development, including the RidgeGate Interchange along Interstate 25 and access to the Regional Transportation District’s Southeast Rail Line.

The West Village has reached a milestone with all land sold to end users. The area was supported by more than $150 million in and includes a mix of residential, commercial and employment uses.

The district is anchored by HCA HealthONE Sky Ridge Medical Center, which opened in 2003 and has more than 300 beds.

Development activity continues in RidgeGate’s , where planning efforts began in 2018 and rail service expanded in 2019.

Shea Homes is developing Lyric at RidgeGate, a 700-acre residential village planned for about 1,900 homes. More than 100 homes have been completed, with additional move-ins expected. Builders in the community include Infinity, Lokal and Thrive Home Builders.

The Lyric Amenity Center is scheduled to open in mid-June. The 7,500-square-foot facility will include a restaurant and welcome center, fitness building, pool and outdoor gathering spaces.

Additional residential projects include The Reserve at Lone Tree, a 209-unit senior living community, a 101-unit affordable senior housing development, a 340-unit apartment community under construction and Tall Tales Ranch, a planned residential village for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The East Village currently includes about 200 occupied single-family homes and multiple apartment communities, including affordable housing.

Retail and civic projects are also moving forward. A King Soopers-anchored Lone Tree Village Center is under construction and is expected to open in early 2027.

Public projects include the 80-acre High Note Regional Park, which will feature an amphitheater, athletic fields, courts and gathering spaces. Additional projects include Badger Gulch Park, new civic facilities and a Douglas County School District elementary school scheduled to open in 2027.

Looking ahead, RidgeGate plans to develop the Lone Tree City Center, envisioned as a downtown district featuring a mix of residential, commercial and public spaces near existing transit infrastructure.

“As we celebrate 25 years of progress, we are equally focused on what’s ahead,” Jones said.
