The late Nat Fleming started his career shaping cowboy hats in Texas and opened The Cow Lot, a shop, in in 1952. The shop closed more than a half-century later, but Glenn and resurrected the brand in Colorado circa 2013.

In Brief:

Glenn’s father, Dewey Orms, worked with Fleming in Wichita Falls. “We spent the first five years on the road in a motor home and cargo trailer, traveling from to rodeo to horse show to horse show,” says Karen.

The arrival of in 2020 put the shows on pause, leading the Ormses to open a brick-and-mortar store in northeast Denver in 2022. “They come from major manufacturers [with an] open crown, flat brim, then we shape them to the customer’s specifications,” says Karen. “We have 100% wool all the way up to 100% beaver.”
