“In tax law, knowledge is power,” said John Wilson, senior partner at Holland & Hart in Denver. “Not everyone has the mind for tax, but for those who do it can be an extremely rewarding and satisfying profession.”

The former director of the University of Denver’s Graduate Tax Program and a fellow with the American College of Tax Counsel, Wilson is undoubtedly one of those attorneys with a mind for tax. He joined Holland & Hart in 2000 and his practice now encompasses corporate work as well as trusts and estates, mergers and acquisitions, and tax matters of all kinds.

Wilson said he enjoys tax law due to the variety of the work and the challenge of delving into the facts of a case. “One can never know enough tax,” he mused. “There is always more to learn. The field is always changing, providing endless intellectual challenge.”
