DENVER — Kaiser Permanente has opened new medical offices in Lakewood replacing a facility that has served patients since 1972.
The three-story building at 8301 W. Alameda Ave. will serve more than 36,000 Kaiser Permanente members who rely on the location for primary care. The project also doubles the capacity of the system’s busiest urgent care clinic in Colorado.
The new facility replaces the adjacent Lakewood Medical Offices that have operated for more than 50 years.
“As a physician and a leader here at Kaiser Permanente, I’m excited for what this new building makes possible,” said Greg Berman, interim president and executive medical director of Kaiser Permanente in Colorado. “A more comfortable, technologically integrated exam room space and new collaborative areas will help our teams deliver care even more effectively for our current and future members.”
Kaiser Permanente said the building was constructed using prefabricated components assembled off-site and installed at the location. The approach reduced landfill waste by nearly 70% and lowered transportation emissions.
The facility is targeting LEED Gold certification.
Environmental features include solar panels expected to generate nearly 1 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, supplying more than 50% of the building’s energy needs. The building uses all-electric systems, low-emitting materials and water-efficient fixtures. Native landscaping is expected to reduce outdoor water use by more than 50%.
The Lakewood project is part of a broader investment in Colorado. Kaiser Permanente announced in July 2025 that it would make its largest brick-and-mortar investment in the state in 15 years.
